Create the Commercial!

For this assignment you will create a commercial for a product of your choosing. The product may be an actual product in the real world or may be some type of fictional product that you and your partner dream up. Use some of the special effects and camera/editing tips to display the features of your product. For example, if your product is, “Ultimate X-Ray Vision Goggles,” you might choose to use the X-Ray effect in iMovie. Or, if your product is the “Anti-Classroom Boredom Teleporter,” then you should use the software to make it look like the person can quickly disappear. The product idea for your commercial should be appropriate and should have some type of positive benefit to consumers. You should also create and include in your commercial some type of catchy line that goes along with the product that you are selling. Before you begin your storyboard for this project your idea needs to be approved by Mr. Montagne. Here are some real world examples:

Here are some examples of dreamed up projects that you could do:
XYZ PC – “A new kind of PC from a new kind of company”
Gator Blast – “Fuel for your body”
Invisablow Pencil – “Taking you everywhere and anywhere”

Your project should incorporate the following:
  1. A completed storyboard
  2. Good camera fundamentals (eg-Rule of Thirds, 5 basic camera positions, using close-ups, and no zooming)
  3. Title and credits
  4. No more than one two minutes in length (no exceptions this time)
  5. Work shared fairly between project partners
  6. Special effects, sounds and audio used appropriately
  7. Project is watchable, which means it is made up of several short clips that keeps the pace quick in order to keep the viewers attention.
